Well, now that you ask - and this is true - a friend of mine's parents built
a bomb shelter back in the early 50s when Stalin was "about to push the
button." According to Bill his parents went first rate with heat, cooling,
refrigeration, light, ventilation, cooking - all electric, but of
course......
I do appreciate this list and check it regularly even though I am inactive
here.

For reliable communications all that is required is a pedal cycle with a
stormyarcher dynamo hub a simple TX/RX and a pump action CW KEY and a
proficient CW OPERATOR. The hardware could be engineered out of scrap and
operated by a human.
Although convenient we do not need the Internet, satellites or associated
systems to communicate, these are vunerable devices and can easily be
ZAPPED!!!
In the end the basic devices will prevail, easily concealed, therefore hard
to find and destroy.
