Subject: Re: LF: RE: 500 kHz in Belgium
Laurence nice to hear from you..summer time down here and lf goes into a quiet period,,cw frequecy for test nites at 09000 utc thursday is 181.4khz...ssb is on 182.7 lsb usally sunday mornings where we bounce strong groundwaves thru mountain ranges with ease...long range argo sigs on 136 khz aprox during equinox times sigs get into canada and russia areas..we have found on longer distance propagation peaks when one side of contact is in dawn or dusk...strange things happen on ssb when ioensphere is working down at 182.7 you can get extreme selective fading..u can switch then to double sideband no carrier and the chap picks out which side is the strongest..sounds weird but that what happens on lf..if ioensphere kicks in...73s george zl3pn
