Hi John, LFers,

Success!!  Since the primary and secondary windings of the
repeater coils are actually two windings hooked in series, I
removed the link on the line side and replaced it with a 0.1
capacitor.  That reduced the input level in the 0 to 1kHz.
range by better than 10 dB., while everything above that
is still about the same level.  Now the mains hum and its
first few harmonics ares well below the baseband level.
