Dear LF Group,

I am advised by Peter Tribe G0VVE that he has available for disposal a complete unmodified 1Kw Decca 5501 TX. It was one of the original batch of transmitters which appeared when the Decca Navigator system closed down several years ago but never modified.. Circuit info etc. is available.
If any of the LF operators planning to attend the RSGB HF Conference HFC2006  this weekend 6/7/8th October would be interested in acquiring this TX, it will be available at the LF station GB2HFC over the weekend.to avoid shipping costs. - Contact Derek G3GRO or Jim Moritz on the stand . Alternatively, contact Peter Tribe after next weekend at [email protected].

Some more items of ex-Decca gear have also recently surfaced. One item is a lab-built test unit in an aluminium box about 30cm cube containing all the RF bits for a single 400W TX channel with a socket on top to accept one of the 400W plug-in TX modules for test purposes.I have run it up and it works OK . It has the same test meter system as the main 5501 TX with RF power measurementetc. There is also to go with it, an unused 400W module in the original makers wrapping.
Also available is a spare 5501 output transformer rated at 1.2 Kw RF with 3 input windings to accept inputs from three 400W modules plus a number of spare power FETs.
Any one interested in these contact me at [email protected]
