Dear LF,

I have found a Lightning Flash Plotter/Live Storm Data source based in the south of the UK. It shows lightning strokes within a 600 km radius of Newport, Isle of Wight. Quite handy for us EU LF enthusiasts! There are a few strikes occuring the the west of the Cherbourg peninsular right now.

Subject: LF: WWLL Global Lightning Map

Dear LF Group,

after some searching, I have found an interesting, quasi-realtime lightning map. It is on the website of the WWLL (World Wide Lightning Location) network:
http://flash.ess.washington.edu/

They do not claim the sub-kilometer accuracy of some of the commercial networks, but they have a nice global display updating every 10 minutes. The data is based on correlated VLF receivers (TOGA = time of group arrival), and the published spectrograms are also pretty impressive.

It has been quiet on this reflector today, hope its working.

Have fun, 73
