Dear LF Group, after some searching, I have found an interesting, quasi-realtime lightning map. It is on the website of the WWLL (World Wide Lightning Location) network: http://flash.ess.washington.edu/ They do not claim the sub-kilometer accuracy of some of the commercial networks, but they have a nice global display updating every 10 minutes. The data is based on correlated VLF receivers (TOGA = time of group arrival), and the published spectrograms are also pretty impressive. It has been quiet on this reflector today, hope its working. Have fun, 73 Markus, DF6NM |
