Hello Mike, I use ICOM 718 transceivers which tune from 30mhz down to 30kHz. Has built in switched pre amp but usually find unnecessary on 500 as the rx is extremely sensitive. Can only fit one i.f f

Mike. I use a Datong up converter UC/1 IF 144 mhz IF out to an IC - 746. This set up works well and does not suffer from any crossmod etc. Other RX's that work well are Hagenuk BLU EE 430 designed to

I make do with my RA6790-GM , with vlf front end , main problem is the silly membrain keys are a bit hard on the digits , Got the pre-amp, but never fitted it as it dosent need it , No rf amp , Bit q
