We don't know much about propagation on 500kHz yet - The DI beacons and SM6BHZ give us some targets, but leave a lot of empty gaps in coverage. Cheers, Jim Moritz 73 de M0BMU Dear Jim, I understand

Dear all, I would like to comment these MF propagation statements by my own experiences down below: Around 1957, when I had been at sea, the average MF transmitter power on a cargo ship had been arou

Hi Roelof, LFers, Thanks for the tip about the "classaxe" website! Very neat and effective. I have already put it to use to find out data about the Navtex stations I've been copying on my big 500 kHz

Dear Roelof, LF Group, Thanks for sending the link - someone has been busy! I did some Navtex monitoring myself a while back - I used some decoder software called SeaTTY which logs all the messages,

Dear David, Dave, Alan, LF Group, My experience is that some stations are restricted to frequencies around 502kHz due to crystal control being used - there is relatively little going on nearer the ba

I would suggest it is best to put the 'beacons', especially QRSS ones, close the top or bottom band edges allowing a margin for the transmit bandwidth - especially since those using QRSS have rather
