Oh yes, I vaguely remember writing it  - in a slack few minutes one evening after someone (You ?) requested it.  Found the original source code now
What are you saying you actually want it to do?

It's a simple text driven prog so difficult to write interactions and things.   AN all singing all dancing prog with options and manual control would be better in a windows format.  Are you saying you just want a simple on / off control via that same COM port interface?   It seems  a rather complicated way to go about things.  Wouldn't a toggle switch overriding the COM port control be a simpler solution?

I clean out that DropF folder regulalrly - it is only for temporary file transfers.   Permanent stuff goes elsewhere with fixed links

Hello Andy,

This  one  but it appears the directory has been removed subsequent to
me downloading it a few months ago. Thanks.

Try this
http://www.g4jnt.com/DropF/simpletimer.zip

It lets you abort the on time using the [esc] key

Source code is in there as well

All in PowerBasic, command line compiler version
(By far the nicest way to programme simple things that don't need whizzy windows interfaces)
