Bad form to follow up my own post so fast but - just had a play and there is no obvious difference between the scope match at the shack or the aerial - except its a lot colder at the aerial :-) However if I give the amp a capacitive load it is much happier ... and will take over 15V and no oscillation - that ought to tell me something but I'm not sure what :-( Regards all Nick M0HGU -- "Emberella," thought Magrat.
