Yes it has to download 1.5 Mbyte of spectrum data to fill the screen. It's throttled by my ADSL line. Unfortunately, security restrictions prevent me downloading data from a site other than the one the .html is loaded from. An important component of browser security. I need to set up another site, on a VM in a data center. About $8 per month, and that also means that other receivers can upload their spectrum data and use the same web page. The page can easily be made to work with single or two channel data from other sites. Imagine a pull-down list of VLF receivers to choose from! Uploaded spectrum data is a mere 8664 bytes every 15 minutes from the rx site - that's for 3-channel, only 2888 bytes for a single channel rx, and the data can be saved for a *very* long time. -- Paul Nicholson -- |
