Well, I for one would generate them as an I/Q baseband stream and upconvert using a quadrature converter.  Just as every modern piece of radio communincations equipment does.

No expensive narrow band filters or IF stages.

Never, never, never...rather I become friar and I go to a cloistered convent !
And for delight of those who use only the digital mode, this is the power supply of my HF PA.

Merry Christmas to all analog or digital ham  :-))

DIGI MODES
Fall asleep over the keyboard
Go for Xmas Dinner
Go down the pub and get drunk
Sleep for a week
And
the rig still Belches out wspr or opera and is seen world wide, no rush back for results.

CW MODE
Fall asleep over the PA running 2 x 4CX 1500 tubes
A flash and a bang
Operator is Zapped and reduced to vapour
Signal never left the shack, no result
Operator SK SK

You can see why DATA MODES are preferred, there is no option if the operator of today wants to remain alive and is not in a hurry for results

Operators of today are sluggish and move in jerks sort of robotic and are more suited to chips and not daring like those of yesteryears that would glare at 200 Watt filaments with 10 Kilovolts on the anode and had to move fast to avoid a SK SK situation

I expect some old timers are also getting sluggish and moving towards Digital, the easy life which also prolongs the pension.

Merry Xmas and avoid Danger------think Digital
