Hi Graham, First I have to say that I live in a small town and is quiet zone. And at home and my shack I cleaned all my RFI.The loop es bit more quiet and directive, then the signals should be over from 2 or 4dB better than the mini-whip in all the periods at 477k. In some cases make the difference to receive or not receive some station. The active-antenna.eu loop have different setups. Currently I'm using a single loop of two meters of diameter, using 1/2 inch coax. It is located at the same height and zone of the mini-whip. But need test another loop setups and sizes. I have to test the vertical symmetrical short dipole too. At 136 is working better the mini-whip, because as the loop is oriented to Europa I'm loosing the VO1NA QRSS. I need more time to see what is better at 136, and tests another setups too. What is better? Not easy to say... the loop works better, but not is omnidirectional and can lose some stations. 73!
