Andy,

Some years ago Bob W2ZM using the experimental call WE2XGR/6 worked Finbar EI0CF on CW and also ssb (Bob ran ssb, Finbar ran CW).
Somewhere I have a .wav file from Finbar with his reception of Bob's ssb signal.
I know that there have been other T/A contacts but I don't recall all the details.

Hi to all.

Sure, it is not necessary to plan QRO for CW coming from Joe.

Here I heard often the signal coming from Joe last winter, and also just some last days around 0200 TU on QRSS with 559 good signal by ears !

I heard also some years ago CW QSO around 507 kHz between local US stations, and also between Finbar and VE / W stations. Did you remember about these tests ?

Here I have a QRP MF TX, so I cannot play that. But I am sure that any west EU station using 10 Watts ERP, can manage again this challenge, when the conditions are good.

But my ultimate and main question is : why some years ago there was some activity on the old CW MF band from VE / W, and nothing now ?

Hi Joe!
5 watts eirp sounds very well!
Do you plan QRO for your CW?
I think then really two way CW should be possible over our distance!

Hi Graham,

I couldn't find antthing on modes or BW.  The last LOA for the band
didn't specify mode/BW either and was 5 W ERP not EIRP.  Anyway,
it's a good day for Canadians and those hoping to work them on 630.

The CW beacon will be on again tonight and yours truly will certainly
consider requests for skeds!

No  mention  of  modes  and  B/W in the  sub  clauses , other  than the usual
'no jam' ?

Hello Group,

For those who didn't get the CW message on 477.7 kHz last night, I'm
happy to report that 472-479 kHz is now available to all Canadian
amateurs.   Per the ITU WRC12 approval of 14 February 2012, we may
use 5 watts EIRP on the band but may not cause interference to
the primary users.  For further info, please see the Industry Canada
web page, http://www.ic.gc.ca/eic/site/smt-gst.nsf/eng/sf10759.html
which was published online last Thursday 1 May.
