Not really , there is still a technical barrier for many stations , translating audio to rf , modest Ae's will radiate , but , the marketing was and remains well off

Look what happened , when the 500 nov expired , there was not a mention at the rsgb convention and the latest articles have images of happy pixels dancing across the pc screen , not text from a distant station

if you can see pixels , you can decode data

How about a simple reason........more modes than active operators?
but hey "variety is the spice of life"
Alan
G3NYK (one of the inactive "operators") :-))

Anything that is published about LF/ MF has cq, qrss and beacons as the main thread

Anyone that tunes into LF/MF finds cw,qrss, beacons

Anyone that try's to change direction , is met with a facsimile of a gyroscope in precession

Its exciting , wobbles for a while , defies expectations then once the input is removed
it regains its initial orientation ,

And the more the technical input , ie the faster the rotation , the more the resistance to
change ...

Hi Steinar,

If no big gun is needed and there is no activity anyway, then there must be another reason. Do you have an idea?

Pity if that is the case. It was such a nice mode for us who do not have
a big gun.
