Ham radio seems an hobby for the 50-and-more aged but's not true.
My latest youngster inducted to ham radio is 16 and he's truly interested
in that. Ham radio is becoming "old" in term of people because only
a few of us are willing to bring new generations in.
50 years ago discovering that radio thing was normal. Now you have
to go in technical schools, show that to the boys and if they
are interested they'll come. But if you don't .. they'll not come.

As a child of 8 years i was fascinated by the very flexible metallic
wire (the solder) and used a big 110W hand-iron with a wooden hold.
No i prefer a Ersa Analog 60 solder station. It is easy to replace the
tip while it is on 450 °C...
