Hi All,
If a valve (tube) is capable of lasting 10 years in service it doesn't
seem to this simple mind beyond the wit of man to manufacture a few
extra spares to keep the station going for many years yet using the
other major components - which is where the major part of the capital is
invested !
I suspect that Alan may be right in that another agenda is being
followed.
In any case there is surely a conservation case here that is at least as
valid as the crazy schemes that get public funds for the preservation of
(largely redundant) places of worship and many (so-called) "ancient
monuments"!
Where's the Lottery Heritage Funding.
This warrants a National Outcry. It's a disgrace!
