I left Chris' window running overnight and caught him testing early this morning, it certainly looks as though he has made some big improvement from yesterday. He is 10dB above noise peaks.

When I got up I mailed him and he informs that the TX will be off at around 09.00UTC I didn't get any info for his possible return later today..

Pity because I also set a 43uHz window on test, see capture-s.
13030913.jpg also shows his signal yesterday, no more than a trail of coherent dots, a signal in the John Lennon category, not posted as I didn't want to be accused of malpractice.

Many thanks for the report and screen shot Chris.

I was doing some adjustments and occasionally changing the frequency today so maybe that had some effect.

The new coil appears to be giving better results from this end yet reports from you and Eddie G3ZJO seem down on the last time, when I was using the old coil . . .

All I can do now is to improve the aerial and try to get my kite or balloons up in the air - maybe next week . . .

Hi Chris
Here's my trace - perhaps not quite so clear as last time. Until 15.00 the bin size was 2.8mHz and I then changed to 1.4 mHz. Interestingly, your signal seemed to come and go after 1500 as you can see - with nothing very clear after 1700.

Think I was just too late today to see you for long enough Chris. Will check the trace later to see if there was any clear sign of you.

Hello Roger, LF,

Chris (et al)

Just got back from Canterbury and turned on the PC and VLF preamp. Once Spectrum Lab warms up (1-2hrs delay) my grabber will be looking for your signal on the new frequency in 424uHz BW, assuming you are still TXing that is.  Grabber is at https://dl.dropbox.com/u/15047843/xbm_grab.jpg.

Can someone please remind me how to set up SL to do split screen looking around both 8.9700 and 8,97666kHz? This could be very useful.
