Hi Marcus

Spoil the fun, no way, thank you for your observation, I read Paul's early query about 2 carriers and took the 80uHz as Lubos' signal, my line is in that region. At least you could see my line  :-) we must suspect that there was a couple of stable carriers within the time frame of OK2BVG, maybe not that stable hence the fuzz.
Well I wasn't convinced. We are learning all this 8.9k at this end, feel free to spot the deliberate misconceptions: O:-)

Dear Lubos, Eddie,

congratulations on the second reception by Paul Nicholson. Together with OE3GHB, this must be the record detection distance from a non-airborne home antenna.

Eddie, I don't want to be the one who spoils the fun, but I'm quite sure that the weak trace in your capture is too close to 8970 to possibly match up with Lubos. Uwe's clear trace on your other screenshot verifies that your calibration is perfect. On the other hand, the trace on Gerhard's calibrated grabber shows that Lubos actually transmitted just below - 5 mHz, matching up with Paul.

Hello Wolf
Yes Paul made Lubos' frequency a little lower than 8.970kHz, I measured my noisy line merely with the cross hairs at 8.96999863kHz. I am still not convinced.

Hello Stefan, Lubos, and the group,

For those who haven't seen this in the Yahoo VLF group yet:

Lubos' signal has been identified by Paul in Todmorden, range is 1423km

Congrats to all involved !
