Mal & Chris,

Yes, that's correct, Stefan did use his kite at 300m bt had to get special authorization for that height. Even at that height I did not see anything on SpecLab, still working to improve the Rx loop though.

Got to agree that the uk limit is not good news for 9kHz but I won't be trying to fly a kite anyway. If my NoV is granted it will all be home based using anything that will go in my small garden, it should good fun trying.

And the same for tethered balloons :-

Hi Gary
If you cannot get your kite higher than 60 metres, 9 Kcs could be a damp squib in the  uk. Between 200 - 500 metres would be a more realistic height for this band.
Did the German man say his kite was up at 300 metres ?

I think this answers the question.

I am qrv on all HF bands and surprised to work so many ex LF ops, they have all left for bands where  qso's are more plentiful on CW.
Just worked HB9ASB Toni on 10 Mcs ex 137 kcs op, we had many cw qso's in the past.
LF and MF vy quiet at present and 9 Kcs a dead duck especially in the UK. Does anyone intend to transmit with an antenna on 9 Kcs in theUK or is there anyone with a RX setup capable of hearing a cw or qrs signal?
I have asked this question before but get no response!!!!!!!!!!!!! Kilroy says kites are banned in the Uk above 5 metres, 9 Kcs could be a damp squib
