Interesting set up Roger,
If G3XDV could 'see' your signal for
qrss3 , its quite possible that MF-1 would of given a
full decode ?
(assuming your transverting from hf for
wspr?)
s/n floor is round -33 db for 100%
decode falling to 90% at -34 , -35>-36 are tending to
'random'

Subject: LF: My first 137kHz WSPR report
Just got my first 137.5kHz WSPR report from G6ALB in the next
village 3km away. Andrew has a far from optimised set-up. So, in the last week I
have been copied by 3 different stations:
G3XDV partial ID on QRSS3 at 62km, G3XIZ -
full ID on QRSS3 at 48km G6ALB - full ID on WSPR at
3km
Although this may not sound impressive, to me it's a very
encouraging start considering the station, micropower and 20m spaced earth
electrode "antenna".
A picture of the QRSS3 beacon and the TX transverter
used for WSPR is attached.
