Folks,

Well I need to do an estimate of ERP with the "earth antenna", so will try to measure this in the coming days. Jusging by reports so far the system is about 6-10dB down on my top loaded vertical antenna. The power from the transverter is 5W still but with the vertical the ERP was only around 1mW (calculated and measured). So, at a first guess, the ERP is probably around 200uW but perhaps with directivity because of the loop action.

Rik, I could run it overnight tonight if you like to see who can copy me. Anyone else willing and able to listen overnight tonight please?

3 watts into my 600 meter 70' vertical gets me easy CW copy at 100 miles in daylight. If you can get a bit over 100 miles with 5 watts CW in daylight with that Earth Electrode antenna, then you know it works damn good.
