Hi Roelof, well skywave is not at a minimum at noon, it is at a maximum for the daytime period. However you are right in your timing for another reason this is the most repeatable period of the day, assuming a quiet day with no lunchtime flares, over a number of days. For reference skywave is probably at its lowest in the dawn and dusk "dips".
