Its certainly an expensive appliance. My 500 tx was built from the junk box.
The xtals are 1945/50 vintage.
The FET came out of an old marine tx.
My IC 706 has output on 500 and just needs a filter to clean the sig up and
a FET amp added to get some qro rf out.This rig then covers from 500 kcs -
146mcs all mode capability and costs less.
