I know this is a bit off topic, but rather than going up in altitude, had you considered going down?

It is over 20 years since I was last in your part of the world, but as I remember it there is quite a large area of salt marsh at Pagham, a few miles further along the coast. An aerial with its feet in that might be an interesting proposition.
