If timing slips, the averaged power will be out by the amount of slippage. So, for a 1 second error the total power summed over the window is 4/5, or about 1dB down. For 2.5s slippage, -3dB

BUT..

.. this may be only an approximation as windowing is applied so the contribution from the power measured at the middle of the timing window is given a greater weigthing than the measurement at either end. In this event, slight timing error will introduce even less error.

Q .. If the tx is keyed by vox/breakin will the slight clipping of the leading edge of the beacon cause time problems ??

reason being .. if use force 'tx' will miss the beacon rx windows ??
