John, LF,
What a clever database, I had not realised & not done any research so thanks
for the info.
Should be on again tonight all being well with my new (M0BMU) buffer amp,
the SBL-3 mixer seems to work better than the SA602 producing a cleaner
output at a better level.
All will be documented in due course on the UK500KHZ web site :-
http://groups.google.com/group/uk500khz
and on my web site at :-

Cheers,
Gary - G4WGT.

Hello Gary, LF
WSPR itself only transmits the 4-figures (eg IO90) but if you enter all
6 in the options dialogue of the software (along with your correct
callsign, NOT K1JT - hi!) then any spots you report to WSPRnet will be
tagged with your 6-figure locator (as a receiving station). Furthermore
it appears that the database at WSPRnet is clever enough to apply that
6-figure locator to any spots others make of your own transmissions....
If you notice Andy's reports all show him simply as "IO90" - when most
other people are 6-figure accurate. I can only assume it's because he's
never sent a spot to the database as a RX station, with his accurate
6-figure locator attached. If he did so then all later reports of HIS
signal would be 6-figure accurate too, due to the database cleverness.
Not really a problem, but it aids accurate distance calculation.
Cheers,
John
