John and group
Thanks for the reports - I'm following the WSPR spot database.
Transmitter power is actually 400 watts but that is not a choice in the pull down box. Wasn't aware
it supposed to be ERP. When the program originally came out a couple of us on 137 and 500 were using
transmitter power so I've just continued that. ERP here would be about 40 watts.
If you're interested, info on the linear amplifier in use can be found at
http://www.w1vd.com/9505MF.html . For non linear modes I use a combined pair of Class D amplifiers
at 1 kW. Info on that amp can be found at http://www.w1vd.com/137-500KWTX.html .
Yes...500 kHz is quite a roller coaster as far as QSB is concerned - both on the long and short
haul. Transmitted WSPR about a month ago and got a few reports from EU but seems interest has grown
since then.
Thanks again to all for taking time to look for the signal.
Jay

Chris,
Great to see you're receiving Jay too, now we need the others to QSY
up and join in, to get more data.
I noice Jay you're reporting 500W - TX power NOT ERP presumably!
That must quite a nice PA for almost 100% duty cycle at that power.
I see some short deep QSB, dips lasting approx 3-4 minutes, and
relatively long periods of up to 12 minutes of good trace/solid
decodes in between.
Cheers,
John
