The noise is only there AFTER I connect the antenna. So it has something to do with the mains AC, coax run and the antenna...

if I recapitulate right, the noise is there when you:
1. power the RX from mains
2. connect the antenna

It looks to me that you create some kind of loop that picks up the noise. The "loop" might be formed by the coax going to the antenna ---> the antenna earth ---> the protective ground of the mains.

There are 2 ways to check wether that is the case:
1. power the RX from battery and connect the mains protective ground to the RX (metal case): now you should have the noise even when running from battery 2. power the RX from mains and be sure to disconnect any other grounding (eg at the antenna feeding point): now you should have no noise
