Hello LF, Dave & Mike

A pile up! I was waiting to pounce on Mike G3YPE after Brian finished
and F6BWO nabbed the QRG!

I QSYd to 501.5 and 3530 and had a succesful x-band QSO - thanks Mike!

This x-band stuff is real radio! I use my K2 and a PA0RDT active
"mini-whip" for RX on 80m and the seperate 500khz TX and antenna for
transmit. Unfortunately there's lots of headphone plugging/unplugging
to follow both halfs of an ongoing x-band QSO so as to know when to
call/tail end etc!

Great fun.

I had a question posed by a DL station about the legality of working us
- since we're outside the normal "amateur service". My opinion is it's
fine. I've asked John Gould for the official line but intend to
continue with it as it helps my "research" to work and get reports from
as many stations, as far away, as possible.

Cheers,

John
