Hi Scott, LFers,

That's good news about the mini-whip power.  I intend to put mine
out in the back field, well clear of everything, and to power it from
a sealed battery pack with a small solar panel to keep it charged.
Since most panels put out around 17-18 volts if not regulated, it
would seem that I've hit upon a lucky break for once!
