Calystegia
sepium (bellbind) is a strong twining climber, with shallow,
fleshy underground stems. Convolvulus arvensis (bindweed) is weaker
in appearance than bellbind, but also spreads rapidly through the soil. Both
weeds can be imported into the garden among plant roots, soil or manure.
