Yes, Roelof, have observed this noise pattern quite often, also seen on MW.
No idea of the cause.

Hello all,

After tinkering with the waterfall color palette of SpecLab for some time, I
have asked Harmut for his settings. (contrast at maximum, brightness
adjusted accordingly). This has paid off.

I had O-copy of WD2XGJ, WD2XKO and VO1NA on QRSS60. The best copy was in the
hours before sunrise.

Looking at my overnight SpecLab captures, there appeared to be a substantial difference in background noise. It was much stronger from 02:00 - 05:00 and
from 06:00 - 06:30 UTC. Have other listeners observed this also?
At the time a massive thunderstorm was lurking over the Mediterranean. Could
this have caused the increase in band noise?

Best regards,

Roelof Bakker, pa0rdt
