Well, it is a software problem, the synthesizer IS CAPABLE of 1 Hz
steps, but the software limits to 10 Hz. I can't explain why Racal decided
that. But you may change the Eproms, of course.

By IF passband tuning, do you mean the use of the 1kHz and 300 Hz
filters on SSB ?

About the RA1792 ... has anyone a source for spare LCDs, different from
Racal itself ?

Or, is anyone so close to Racal to give me any info on the real producer
of those parts .... ?
