Hello all de Bob, ON4DY.
Who is going to tell me why someone all of a sudden is catched by LowFer,
after spending over
fifty years of activity on HF, and the other end of the spectrum up to the
13 cm band...
but signals I recently heard on 136 Khz remind me the captivating years of
70cm E.M.E work, and
may have been the incentive kick-off to discover another fascinating world
of weak signal reception.
Not having a dedicated antenna, nor anything else for this band, I built a
two stage preamp, to
enhance the sigs of a 360 ft beverage antenna, and put this in front of my
FT-1000-MP.
This morning sunday 12th I copied :
05:42 136.4 GW4ALG cq's
06:22 - 06:34 GW4ALG 559 qso with HB9ASB (439)
06:35
136.63
G3BDQ 559 cq
06:48
136.62
OZ5N cq 439
07:30
136.63 PA0SE (579) -
GW4ALG qso
Other station heard before : Friday Sept 10 :
Pa0CC 559 15:27 qso with G8RW 539
Saturday 11th : OZ1KMR
329
Of course the following stations have been heard while
testing the gear during the two previous w-e :
G4GVC, G3YXM (one of the strongest) , G3KAU, G3XTZ,
DJ5BV, G3KEV,
EI0CF (weak but just readable), DF2BC/P
So when you desperately end a series of unanswered CQ
calls, never forget
that most probably someone ... somewhere has
heard you.
