Hi Joe, Result from last night. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/101251787/VO1NA/VO1NA.gif Some adjustment in Spectrum Lab settings still required. Regards, Edgar Moonah, Tasmania.
Hello Edgar and all, Interesting animated GIF - wonder how you create those :-) One suggestion: Even though it's incoherent averaging, a curve with the long-term average spectrum plotted along with t
Hi Wolf, Thank you for your suggestions. The process used to generate the animated gif 1. Spectrum Lab captures *.bmp images. 2. A simple batch file with these commands converts *.bmp to *.png. bmp2p
Looks like Joe was still sending the 'NA' message, therefore nothing will be visible in the spectrum. Anyway I single stepped through the animated gif but nothing shows up. Hopefully we can try a car
Edgar, the animated gif is a very good idea! :-) 73, Stefan Am 08.12.2015 21:54, schrieb edgar: Hi Joe, Result from last night. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/101251787/VO1NA/VO1NA.gif Some adju
Hi Edgar, A lovely bit of annimation, but no sidebands for me to see. Paul mentioned a carrier so 4 amps at 137.777 kHz (-0.255 mHz) to the rotated L aerial starting now until 1130 tomorrow morning.
Hi Joe, Thank you. The set-up is being changed to use GPS PPS instead of rsNTP due to internet connection problems. The system should be working again in an hour or so. Regards, Edgar Moonah, Tasmani
Attached are measurements of your carrier from midnight until 16:24 today. The carrier phase plot (centered on the nominal frequency) seems to show a general downward curvature presumably due to osci
VO1NA spectrum measured over the VK window 09:45 to 11:30 http://abelian.org/vlf/tmp/151209a.gif shows the carrier energy spread evenly across three bins and the S/N here is 14.5 dB. A non-coherent s

Hi Edgar, if I remember right, the DCF39 idle carrier is not exactly on 138830 Hz but about 0.55 Hz up. The frequency is also not very stable and there is a ~ 0.1 Hz spread from the telegrams, so in
Hi Edgar, no I don't think so. It's not a very high peak (12 dB), too low in freq (-18 mHz), and probably too late for propagation (13:45 UT). Best 73, Markus --Ursprüngliche Mitteilung-- Von: edgar
Oh well, I guess we'll have to try again. Its nice to see that the carrier, though much weaker, is cleaner than DFC39. Always happy to get your plots, Markus Paul and Edgar. The TX was switched off a
Attached is the continuation of the carrier plot until 16:24 UT today. The continuous phase plot has been centered 0.12 mHz below nominal, but it may have suffered from a couple of cycle slips. Yes t
Here's my continuation of the carrier plot, http://abelian.org/vlf/tmp/151210a.gif using a frequency of 137776.999810 Hz. I wondered what that glitch was. No obvious peak on Edgar's animated spectrum
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/101251787/VO1NA/VO1NA%2010-12-2015.gif The 13:45 and 14:00 frames have a peak in the same place as the 10:15 the previous day. http://abelian.org/vlf/tmp/151210b.
The phase and amplitude plots are showing clear diurnal signals so it looks as if it's mother nature rather than the oscillator causing the major variations. I'd like to get a 3 day mean of these plo
