Geri The Opera mode , transmits only a single on/off carrier , the same as CW or QRS, the TX is a serial data stream. Tx can be via the windows based software ., with com-port CW drive , Audio as in

I thinks so , the max audio is 1800 Hz , which gives 478.8 max carrier frequency G.. Albert, I have installed two copies of Opera 142_beta on both W7 and XP machine. But the assigned frequencies are

So far 477 may be a good spot , beacons on 477 , but if the max mod frequency is 1010 Hz , that puts Op HF of the side bands ? wspr 477.600 , to use the top 200 Hz ? This 'new' band is not very comfo

Tracy No , Opera uses 'dial - usb' as the operating frequency , with audio frequency ranges of QSO 1200 / 1600 Hz Becn 1600 / 1800 Hz Assume then , 477 , would be zero beat , same as the qrg for 500

What are the actual frequencies that are then occupied by OPERA? As long as it is guaranteed that it's all below 2000 Hz above the dial frequency, 477 sounds like a good plan as a start. 73 Geri, DK8
