Hello Roger, congrats to you and G6ALB for this first succes. At 3km you are still within the near field (at a wavelength of 33km), so the fact that the EFP works best might indicate that the transmi

Hi Roger, First, congrats to the 3 km in QRSS-3! This allows you to do local QSOs well? This would allow you both to to a QRSS-3 VLF QSO!! Have you tried this? Am 03.02.2011 11:35, schrieb Roger Lapt

Hi Roger, Well, in my humble opinion you're use of 'earth' mode and so on is inaccurate. I think you have proved this more than once with your lack of results using your earth rod/house pipes! it see

Jim With an EFP the orientation did not seem to matter much at all and signals at least 20dB S/N could be detected in the shack. With the 80cm loop there was no signal detected in my house at all 3km

Hi Rik, I am pretty certain the signal is flowing along the water pipes but that the field around the pipes is much better detected with the E-field probe than with the loop. The EFP works very well

Roger The reason you get Zero signal from you home earth mode is because the transmitted signal is not conducting/inducting into and via the natural ground, what you are getting is some sort of condu

Dear Roger, What is the actual limiting factor on reception with the different antennas? I presume by "best results" you mean best SNR - but is the predominant noise the band QRN or local man-made st

The same advice as from others go into the open countryside away from all pipes and cables and do the job properly. Set up a transmitter as Stefan does out in the forest and then try an earth mode an
