Hi....I compared two antennas ( vertical half wave and a magnetic loop) a few years ago by
keying a flip/flop from the tx accessory output normally meant to switch a linear amp on.
The flip/ flop switched a coax change over relay.  By setting the tx time periods of wspr 
to tx every 5 minutes and noting the start time for antenna number one I could work back 
through the results to get a reasonable comparisons of the two antennas.
