Claudio, This Alec Bennett 2007 Ph.D. thesis on Atmospheric Electricity you cited is quite interesting. Fine quantitative information and detector hardware photos and drawings, notes appended. I'll look at his reference list before long, mainly to look for a paper on signal delay of transmission using atmospheric conductivity over some distance without wires.
