Very risky indeed!! Not recommended, and not as efficient as you may think. A simple Tesla 'magnifying' VLF antenna based in London can transmit an ELF signal around the globe. Attached is a screenshot of a 1.6 Hz signal sent from London as received by the Kiruna magnetometer in Sweden. No connections to anything are required with this TX antenna. In law, connecting anything 'unapproved' to phone, internet cables, motorway hardware, and railways are regarded as 'trespassing'. The penalties (if caught, or a proven later by cameras etc.) carries very heavy penalties. For example, in railways, the track itself is used as part of the signalling system. Connecting anything to the track or any other public utility equipment will be regarded in court as vandalism, and risking lives. Also DO NOT be tempted with today's PME domestic mains delivery of connecting anything mains powered to outdoor earth rods. That's hazardous, and not advised. This is the reason today for circuit trips and double insulation for outdoor power tools. Kind regards, David.
