Hi Rik,

Many congratulations for the first QSO with USA from Belgium ! A very big achievement !
Your station is working amazingly well....

I tried hard but did not complete any TA QSO this morning.

By the way, I built my MF station largely inspired from your excellent website,  http://www.472khz.org/which contains invaluable informations for the newcomers !

MF is very challenging as I live in a small urban lot which does not allow for large antenas. Also spent a lot of time fighting against all kind of local man-made noise...until I found a "sweet spot" in my garden where RX noise level is acceptable and I could start hearing real DX:-)

A most difficult band but a lot of fun !

Thanks to Eric (NO3M) and Paul (N1BUG) for the JT9 QSO's.

The QSO with Eric was "a piece of cake", just took 5 minutes. The QSO with Paul was a bit harder, but we managed to complete it at last.

Thanks for your perseverance Paul.

Unless ON5TA worked one of you (or another USA station) earlier this morning my QSO with Eric would be the first W-ON on 630 meter.

Hi Paul, all,

just a single JT9 decode by AA1A so far.

I will go QRT soon and try again tomorrow morning (0530 UTC).

Hi Paul,

I had half a dozen good copies during your QSO with PA0A (congrats on that one) and later.

I called you for about 45 minutes, meanwhile it was daylight here.

I had a quick propagation check on WSPR and was decoded by VE9GJ.

Not sure I will be QRV tonight or tomorrow morning, my antenna is behaving strange (probably caused by my attempt to higher it 1 meter) and I want to fix that first.

We had decided to try JT9 attempts early in the window but also just
before European sunrise, starting at 0530z. Conditions were not good
early but during the night WSPR signals came up to very good levels.

NO3M and myself were calling CQ. I saw PA0A call CQ a little higher
up and moved up to work him. Albert sent me a report but then lost
my signal and completed with NO3M. Albert's signal peaked -20 during
that time. A little later I had him at -13 on WSPR. A few minutes
later I found him calling CQ on JT9 again. We were able to complete
a QSO but his signal was never better than -22.

I saw a weak signal on my CQ frequency a few times but could not
decode it. Could this have been OR7T calling me? Rik had reported
that he heard me several times.

Even with better conditions and good peak signal levels, QSB was a
major problem... still quite deep with short peaks. I do not see how
QRSS at any speed could have survived this.

Note: I had some problems with my internet service during the night.
I've just seen that not all of my WSPR spots were uploaded.

Would anyone like to try tomorrow morning?
