I don't have much room in here so it's always a cluttered
mess. Projects literally pile up on top of each other.
Rummaging down through the layers is like an archeological
dig. Somewhere down there are the remains of the LF tx
I was using a year ago.

Oh, on the topic of LF - I've got a bag of MC1496 mixers
I'm thinking of using for a 137 kHz rx. I've always had
good results with the MC1496, it seems easy to work with.
But it's a quite venerable device now, should I be looking
at some more modern mixer chip that works better?

The E-field rx performs at 137 kHz, not sure about the system
noise yet but it ought to be around 30nV in 1Hz. Wonder how
that compares with the natural noise floor? I hope to take
a feed off the VLF rxes into an LF mixer for some coherent
reception. It'll make good use of one of the GPSDOCXOs that
are taking up bench space...
