I had read the ZEVS article but not the Ground_dipole one.

The former was originated by someone who seems to be a Russian electrical engineer, so I guess that he's likely to be a reasonably reliable source, though we still don't seem to have a concrete primary source - unless there is something buried in the Russian language references in the articles.

and the Ground_dipole article appears to confirm that it is in fact called Zeus.

Interesting to note the use of the name of a God in what was an atheist country!
