Copied this morning from the UK Microwave Group. Those active in the early days of 73kHz and 136kHz will remember Derek. I think he was instrumental in acquiring the use of the Puckeridge Decca Nav mast after the system closed down. He also managed to save several of the the Decca PA units which were put to good use on 73 and 136, and large quantities of Litz wire were also distributed. Alan G3NYK --------------- Hi folks Sorry to be the bearer of sad news but I have just heard from Peter Head G4FYY of the Crawley club that Derek Atter G3GRO passed away yesterday in hospital. Until recently Derek, as many of you will know, was very involved in microwaves, but his deteriorating health put much of his interest out of reach in his later years. I will let you know of his funeral arrangements in due course. Chris G0FDZ |
