Hello Uwe,

Could you try to start a message at 7...8 UTC? 4 hours is fine.
You know, the QRN...

Meanwhile my GPS module NEO-6M arrived here and i got it working. It consumes 58mA at 3.3V.
I'm able to feed the 1pps to SpecLab and correct the soundcard drift + glitches. But NMEA (an improvement of NIVEA!) could be helpful too, so this is what i'm trying now. So far without success...

Markus,
first:         the decode is wrong
second: same procedure today, start of message 16:00:00
third:       pse try the decoder with redundency check (V0.4b)

Hi Uwe,

unfortunately static level was high, preventing your carriers before and after the PSK from showing up in my spectrogram. The EbNaut decoder produced "GL" at rank 13429 and -1 dB Eb/N0, but I have no clue whether this message is really correct.

Best 73,
Markus

Thanks Uwe. The late evening may not be ideal in terms of QRN background but let's try anyway. I have pushed out the antenna again (half height due to wind), and restarted the VLF grabbers with EbNaut recording since19 UT. 8270.000 is still within EbNaut's bandwidth (+-1/40 Hz) of your QRG so I hope that my new VLF neighbour Roland won't fire up tonight.
All the best,
Markus (DF6NM)

the carrier is on the air.
there will be a special message for Markus:
start 22:00:00
coding 8K19A
CRC 16
period 40
length 2
duration 04:05:20:00
Have fun
Uwe/dj8wx

PS. rain would stop the transmission automatically.

Yesterday afternoon the noise was fairly moderate, and around 18 UT I caught a good dash in 63 uHz, presumably from DJ8WX. I then attempted simulated EbNaut decodes on the carrier, using 1 and 2 character settings and 40 s symbols. Both resulted in valid asterisk messages, with some more margin to spare for the single character. So far I have never decoded a real message on VLF, and I'd be keen to try...
