Chris,

I have my loading coil & variometer in a PVC garden tool store, they come in

all sizes.

Hello Wolf,

Sunday, December 20, 2015

Thanks to all, with apologies for the delay in replying, hectic here!
I will find a waterproof means of having the variometer by the loading
coil, as opinion suggests having it in the shack is a bad idea. Plans
for 2016 are a better ground system, a dedicated LF antenna, as high
as I can get it, and an attempt at my full licence so I can get on MF
as  well!   I  also have two 50V 60 Amp SMPS from big computer servers
that  are  isolated, and intend connecting them in series so my G3YXM
amp   sees   a   full,   regulated  100V  on the FET's, rather than an
unregulated  saggy,  toroidal heating 100V dropping to 79V under load.
The   toroidal  mains  transformer  gets  uncomfortably  hot  on  QRSS
transmissions, and couldn't be run like that for long!

I would like to thank everyone for their patient help over this year,
and wish everyone a healthy and prosperous New Year.

Best regards,
