Luis - the probes are White PVC with a little Black tape left over from some other project, but the whole scene is somewhat back lit by the moon light at the time, and thats what I think your seeing. markus spotted some little "x" artifacts too from probably bad pixels on the Canon

Good dx - still looking for this seasons first over the pole opening...

WE2XPQ has been on daytime cw beacon 475.1 at 350W for the past few days but over the pole is dodgy still....wspr2 or 15 after dark likely

The glow over the probes ... is it a reflection of the aurora light over the metal ??

Yep the loop is in use Graham - around 55A going around the loop -
 
Space weather has been a little bumpy here is a large high res photo of my two probes  during the 18th Aurora - (one for VLF on the left is the modded W1VD) and the one on the right is the modded L400b up the trees

WE2XPQ South central Alaska is on 475.1kHz CW beacon message during daylight 350W - don't expect it to escape the state but its a long way outta here..
