If anyone noting my signal reports, WSPR in particular, is puzzled by
large variations, this is because I am switching between aerials. Best
results are on the main Tx aerial into my R5000 but, failing a suitable
giant relay, I have to use experimental systems instead. Thanks to
GW0NOS in particular I am able to compare results.
The latest aerial is a long ferrite rod with high-gain amplifier, end on
loss is about 10dB. Due soon is a vertical strip in a tube, I understand
height must be the main factor with these.
