Amplitude and phase of WH2XBA/1 from last night http://abelian.org/vlf/tmp/29499_140307a.gif Included a couple of hours before and after to show where the noise floor is. If the phase is anything to go by, the max path length (minimum phase lead) occurs around 04:00 UT. LWPC fails to predict these smaller details of the propagation. It probably would if I could put in some more detailed ionosphere model. There's a lot of chemistry going on in that plasma overnight - recombinations and so on taking place with various rates. When sending opera the transmitter is off for half the time, therefore not so good for measurements. Good however for signal ID. Markus was kind enough to run my recording through his OPDS program to produce 2014-03-07 06:51:53 ... 0mHz -48.9dBOp 100% 19.4dB 2014-03-07 04:40:42 ... 0mHz -51.7dBOp 95% 18.9dB 2014-03-07 02:29:27 ... 0mHz -52.3dBOp 100% 18.5dB 2014-03-07 00:18:11 ... 0mHz -51.5dBOp 100% 18.3dB -- Paul Nicholson -- |
